The Lavanda del Borgo is a typically local building where natural stone white prevails.
The structure is at the foot of the Monte Conero ,on the edge of Borgo San Lorenzo (Sirolo), on the road leading to the ancient sources that fed the Roman aqueduct (at Capo D’Acqua) and then climbs up the ridges of the Monte Colombo hill.
A place with ancient flavors which has several amenities and is surrounded by the rich vegetation of the Conero Regional Park.
The Borgo is a former rural settlement in Sirolo to 1 km (5-10 minute walk) from the medieval village center and its beautiful beaches. Originally Borgo San Lorenzo was erected by the families of stone quarrymen who were working at the Conero quarries. Houses are made exactly of this stone material which gives them a very special look. Over the last few years, the original village has experienced a significant urban development acquiring a super-market, a bazaar,a deli and a restaurant-wine bar. As for village service links there is a stop bus to Ancona (FF.SS), Numana, Porto Recanati and a shuttle to the beaches of Sirolo, Urbani and San Michele.
The owners welcome guests with kindness and familiarity and delight them for breakfast with genuine local products, with different possibilities of choice. On prior request can provide appropriate service to the customer’s specific needs. Everything is tasted outdoors in a frame of lavender bushes.
Lavender plant (lavandula) actually grows very well in those grounds which, with their natural characteristics, allow its growth in a steady and simple way. As known to many, this shrub has a thousand properties known since ancient times; for example it produces flowers that retain their aroma for a long time even after being dried and they are ideal to perfume and protect linen. Guests before leaving receive like homage a lavender scent-bag.
